Wedding Commission: Anita and Matt

Anita and Matt contacted me when they wanted me to make their wedding stationery based on their name “Parrott”. The colour scheme of their wedding was a palette of mauves, lilacs and greens, based on the brides shoes. I initially drew a sketch of two parrots and this became the motif for the invites, thank you cards, place cards, bunting and even featured on the brides hat.

I hand drew the parrot and the feather motif, added text and screen printed the stationery. I used up to five colours on the stationery which coupled with the use of thick watercolour paper, gave it a luxurious feel. I also hand printed envelopes for the invites.

The happy couple!

Doing this project made me realise how suited my art work was to wedding stationery and how much I loved making it. Anita and Matt were a dream to work with and gave me a chance to produce a range that was bespoke and special.
